Junagadh (Gujarat), Apr 11 (UNI) In a breakthrough in the Lions poaching case, the investigating agency, CID Gujarat, has established that the claws found from the poaching gang of Madhya Pradesh were of lions.

Investigating officer Mr R H Adhiya said the Gujarat Forensic Science Laboratory has come to the conclusion that the claws found from the two poachers -- Kuttarsingh Nankasingh Thakore and Mojarsingh Nottarsingh Rajgore -- were of an adult lion killed by them.

Mr Adhiya said Kuttarsingh is a resident of Baldia village in Khandva District of MP, while his accomplice Mojarsingh is residing at Kehtra town in MP.

The duo is being questioned by the investigating team and later they would be sent to Ahmedabad for further interrogation as the gang was selling the claws, skins and skulls of the lions to a leather merchant residing in Ahmedabad.

The officer said a case has been registered against both under Wildlife Protection Act.

So far, CID sleuths have nabbed over 20 people, including a 15-member of the MP gang, that included 13 women.
