CDPO arrested while accepting bribe

Patna, Apr 11 (UNI) Sleuths of state vigilance bureau today arrested child development project officer (CDPO) of Khaira Shakeel Alam from his residence at Biharsharif in Nalanda district, while he was receiving Rs 5000 as bribe to extend favour in connection with appointment of an assistant.

Additional director general of police of state vigilance bureau Neelmani said the trap was laid following a complaint from one Lalita Devi that Mr Ram was demanding an illegal gratification to issue appointment letter to her despite her name was duly recommended for the post of assistant in child development project by Khaira panchayat.

The CDPO was caught red handed while he was accepting cash from Lalita Devi.

The arrested officer would be produced before the special vigilance judge of Patna after thorough interrogation.

UNI
