Nagpur: Baba Amte to have cardiac profile

Nagpur, Apr 11: Noted social worker and Magsaysay Award winner Baba Amte will have a 'cardiac profile' later this week prior to laser surgery for an enlarged prostrate.

The cardiac profile would be carried out as per medical advice as Mr Amte is to be administered a general anaesthesia while undergoing the surgery, doctors attending to him at his residence in Anandwan in Chandrapur district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra told UNI.

''The cardiac profile will be carried out at Anandwan itself by a team of doctors from Nagpur this week,'' they said.

Mr Amte is to be shifted from Anandwan to Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai for treatment of an enlarged prostrate gland. The noted social worker is to be treated at Jaslok Hospital since it has the equipment for treating the prostrate by laser, the doctors added.
