AP Ministers stage dharna on Babli issue
Hyderabad, Apr 11: Andhra Pradesh Ministers and leaders, led by Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah, today staged a silent dharna in front of Gandhi statue on the assembly premises in protest against the Maharashtra government's attitude on the Babli project.
Eight ministers, MLAs and other leaders, who took part in the two-hour long dharna, later went on a padayatra to the Secretariat.
Alleging that the Maharashtra government had violated all norms while constructing the Babli project, Mr Lakshmaiah said Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh had not taken any steps to stop the project work despite the Centre's instructions.
