Amaraja to enter motor-cycle, UPS battery segment

Tirupati, Apr 11 (UNI) After registering their presence in the industrial and heavy automotive battery segment, the Amaraja Batteries Limited (ARBL) is all set to enter the motor-cycle and UPS battery segment.

ARBL Chairman Ramachandra N Galla, in a release here today, said the company was investing Rs 183 crore to set up a motorcycle battery manufacturing unit at Karakambadi.

He said the new project was an important step in Amaraja's growth plans.

ARBL Managing Director Jay Galla said the company would invest Rs 1134 million in the next three years and the proposed new plant would produce 5.74 million batteries per annum.

Apart from product design and technology, the company was aiming to bring revolutionary changes in manufacuring technology to provide high performance and reliable product, he added.
