About 60 injured in 'Jallikattu' events
Pudukottai, Tamil Nadu, Apr 11 (UNI) About 60 people were injured, a few of them seriously in the annual 'Jallikattu' (Taming of Bulls) event at two places in this district today.
Police said about 50 people were injured in the first event at Raapusal Village near Illuppur as part of the ongoing festival in the Muniappan temple.
The injured were admitted to Government Hospitals at Pudukottai town, Keeranur and Illuppur.
Similarly, in another event, about ten people, mostly youths, were injured at Konnayampettai village in Ponamarivathy taluk.
About 900 ferocious bulls were brought from neighbouring districts for participation in the events, police added.
