806 industrail units set up in Kashmir

Srinagar, Apr 11 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Board has established 806 industrial units in Kashmir division during the last financial year.

The units were set up with a credit of Rs 15.70 crore involving Rs 4.53 crore as subsidy during the period.

Thus the Board was able to generate employment avenues for 10815 souls under Rural Employment Generation Programme during the period, chairman of the board R C Sharma said.

Mr Sharma expressed satisfaction over achievements and successful implementation of Rural Employment Generation Programme.

He appreciated the efforts of field staff for achieving set targets fixed for the year 2006-07.

Mr Sharma said that effective steps are underway to ensure rural industrialization and generate maximum employment opportunities in far-flung areas.
