Zicom Starts Metro Surveillance Project

Kolkata, Apr 10: Zicom technologies, a security solutions company, has taken up a surveillance project for the Metro Railway in the city.

Zicom Regional Manager, East (Special Projects Group), Probal Sircar here today said, ''The project will focus on the surveillance of the platforms, ticket counters, exit and entrances of existing 17 stations and the proposed six new stations.'' The project cost has been pegged at Rs 2.7 crore.

All the stations will have network with the a central hub in Metro Bhavan, the headquarters of Metro Railway. Cameras will be installed in all stations, he said.

''We have proposed to the Railway authorities to install automated fire alarms and allied systems which would detect and suppress the fire before it breaks out,'' he said adding the project was at proposal stage and the Metro Railway has not cleared it yet.
