V P Singh demands white paper on RSS, SIMI
Varanasi, Apr 10 (UNI) Former Prime Minister and Janmorcha leader V P Singh today demanded a white paper on activities of the RSS and Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).
Reacting to the reported statement by a senior ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) leader terming both the RSS and SIMI ''communal outfits,'' Mr Singh said ''...instead of making such statements, the Uttar Pradesh government should come out with a white paper on the activities of both the organisations.'' SP leader Janeshwar Mishra had yesterday termed both the RSS and SIMI 'communal outfits'' and said only the SP was capable of ''controlling'' such organisations.
''While the RSS spreads religious extremism among the Hindus, SIMI does the same among the Muslims,'' the former union minister had told newspersons in East UP district of Basti.
The former PM also termed as false, reports that the Janmorcha alliance partner UDF led by Imam of Jama Masjid in Delhi is fielding as candidate, March Seven, 2006 Varanasi blast mastermind Mohd Waliullah in the ongoing assembly polls.
''The UDF has entered into seat sharing arrangement with Janmorcha and is contesting the polls purely on a developmental agenda. Their leaders have assured that the mastermind of the twin Varanasi blasts, presently being tried for sedition, will never be fielded from anywhere in the elections,'' Mr Singh maintained.
''Rumours about Waliullah -- presently lodged in a jail in Ghaziabad district -- contesting assembly polls on a UDF ticket, are being spread by a leader close to Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav,'' Mr Singh alleged.
Mr Singh was in the city to release the Janmorcha election manifesto.
