V P Singh appeals to vote for development not caste

Varanasi, Apr 10 (UNI) Former Prime Minister and Jan Morcha leader V P Singh today appealed the electorate to vote for development and not caste in Uttar Pradesh poll.

''Vote for development and not caste,'' Mr Singh appealed to electorate while interacting with newspersons here today.

''During my stint as the Prime Minister, I implemented the Mandal Commission recommendations only to provide the deprived sections of the society their due share in national prosperity. I sacrificed my government for the cause of social development of the deprived, but those who espoused that cause then are now indulging in caste based politics.'' ''It is sad but true that development has taken a backseat in front of casteist politics being played by most political parties.'' UNI
