Three-year-old boy killed in fire

Hoshiarpur, Apr 10 (UNI) A three-year-old boy was killed when fire broke out in 'jhuggies' at Nangal Khanura village under Talwara Police Station, 85 km from here, this afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Sanjay, son of Narotam, police sources said. The boy was sleeping in when the devastating fire engulfed three jhuggies belonging to migrant labourers from Moradabad.

All household articles and valuables of these labourers were also reduced to ashes in the blaze.

The cause of fire was being ascertained. The total loss of property in the fire was being estimated, sources added.

Receiving information, Mr Gurwaryam Singh, Naib Tehsildar of the area, reached the spot and gave Rs 2000 to Narotam for the cremation of his son.
