TDP calls for bandh in Northern Telangana tomorrow
Nizamabad, Andhra Pradesh Apr 10 (UNI) The Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today called for a bandh tomorrow in Northern Telangana Districts in protest against the Maharashtra police lathicharge on the TDP activists when they were proceeding towards the controversial Babli project with their party leaders near Dhiravelli village at Dharmabad Mandal in Maharashtra.
Talking to newspersons here, TDP senior leader and former Minister T Devendar Goud said the bandh would be observed in five districts, since the districts would face water scarcity because of the illegal construction of the project across the Godavari river.
Alleging that the Maharashtra Government was neglecting the rights of the Andhra Pradesh on sharing of Godavari river, he said the TDP would fight against the government, until it conceded its demands, including visit to the project.
