T-series launches video against piracy
Mumbai, Apr 10 (UNI) Divya Khosla Kumar, who starred in the lead opposite Bobby Deol and Akshay Kumar in 'Ab Tumhare Hawaalen Watan Saathiyon' has decided to do her bit to stop film and music piracy.
She believes its high time the Music Industry fights against the menace that has plagued the industry for so long. Taking an initiative, she produced a short video commercial that hits out at pirated VCDs/DVDs that floats in the market, resulting in losses worth millions to the Industry.
The 45 sec video shows the protagonist, television actor Manini De, a wealthy woman, being the object of mockery as a result of possessing pirated CDs.
Divya Khosla Kumar, who is married to Bhushan Kumar, the head honcho of T-Series, is now in charge of the company's overall administrative activities and one of the Directors as well.
When asked why she has chosen this to be her directorial debut, Divya said ''Our Music Industry faces huge losses due to piracy, which overshadows our artist's talent and hard work. Most people don't realise the consequences when they pick up a pirated VCD or DVD. Thousands of people suffer and are even rendered homeless. I felt it was high time we put an end to this murky business and a commercial is the best way to make the public aware that they are indulging in a crime.'' UNI
