SWR Hubli division's earnings register 30 pc growth

Hubli, Apr 10 (UNI) The Hubli division of the South Western Railway (SWR) zone has registered a 30 per cent growth in its earnings this year over the previous year.

Addressing a press conference here, Divisional Railway Manager Rakesh Vatash said the division's gross revenue for 2006-07 was Rs 2,351.97 crore as against Rs 1,815.74 crore during 2005-06. The division had contributed 70 per cent of the total revenue of the zone, he added.

He said the number of passengers had recorded a 15 per cent increase.

The division was celebrating 'Railway Week' from today.
