Silcher-bound flight makes emergency landing for snag

Guwahati, Apr 10 (UNI) A Silchar-bound Alliance Air flight had to make an emergency landing due to a technical snag soon after take off at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport here today.

However, all passengers and crew on board were safe, official sources here said.

Airport sources informed that smoke was detected in the aircraft a few minutes after it had flown. It immediately returned to the airport.

Engineering department sources in the airport said the flight had developed technical snags and the exact cause of the smoke was yet to be detected.

The Alliance Air flight 7759 was bound from Guwahati to Sichar, with 26 passengers on board.

It had taken off from the airport here at 1230 hours, before making the emergency landing after flying for a few minutes.
