Senior ULFA rebels killed in encounter

Dibrugarh, Apr 10 (UNI) Eight ULFA rebels, including two women cadres were killed in an encounter with the troops in neighbouring Arunachal Pradesh early today.

Army sources said the encounter between the rebels and 7/11 Gorkha Rifles took place at Tiklibam area of Lohit district in Arunachal Pradesh at about 0500 hours.

The slain militants include Joon Bhuyan and Pranab Rajkhowa, both in the rank of 'sergeant major' of the outfit.

Army sources said the toll might go up.

Huge incriminating documents were recovered from them.
