Previlege motion moved against Tahsildar

Bangalore, Apr 10 (UNI) Chairman of the Karnataka Legislative Council Prof B K Chandrashekhar today referred a notice given by Congress member S R Patil, against the Tahsildar of Bilagi taluk in Bagalkot district, to the Privilege Committee.

The Congress member contended that the Tahsildar had convened a meeting to take up drought relief works in the taluk but failed to include any of the works the legislator had recommended in the action plan.

He also informed the that the Tahsildar, without holding any meeting of the Taluk drought relief committee, had submitted an action plan for Rs one crore to the Deputy Commissioner keeping the elected representatives in dark. Charging that the act of the Tahsildar had breached the privilege and appealed the Chairman to refer it to the Privilege committee for redressal.
