Pranab Mukherjee discharged from hospital
New Delhi, Apr 10 (UNI) External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee was discharged from the Army (Research&Referral) Hospital today after appreciable improvement in his condition.
He was discharged after confirmatory tests were found okay, an Army Spokesman said.
Mr Mukherjee was 'active and cheerful' and had a number of visitors, including Chief of Army Staff General J J Singh.
Earlier, his head CT and MRI and chest CT had ruled out any bone or internal (soft tissue) injuries.
Mr Mukherjee had suffered injuries in the head when the car in which he was travelling from Murshidabad to Kolkata collided head-on with a truck at Nakashipara in Nadia district on Saturday evening.
He was initially treated at Bethuadahari Primary Hospital and then shifted to Krishnanagar Hospital in West Bengal before being flown to Delhi on Sunday in a special plane for further treatment.
