Pondicherry to reengage LKG teachers' services

Puducherry, Apr 10 (UNI) The Puducherry administration would reengage the service of the LKG teachers from this month onwards as their service was not terminated, Chief Minister N Rangasamy told the legislative assembly today.

Replying to a special mention tabled by AIADMK member A Anbazhagan on the issue during zero hour today, the Chief Minister said that the government had taken a policy decision to start LKG classes in the government sector and accordingly appointed the LKG teachers. Now that the students are enjoying holidays, the LKG teachers were not given their wages. The government would reengage their service, and appoint more teachers as the present LKG batch would go to UKG this year.

Earlier in his special mention Mr.Anbazhagan pointed out the plight of 158 LKG teachers as the government had stopped their wages from last month.
