Monica case: Witnesses' statements recorded

Bhopal, Apr 10 (UNI) A local court today recorded statements of three witnesses in a fake passports case wherein underworld don Abu Salem and his starlet-girlfriend Monica Bedi stand accused.

The statements of the then City Superintendent of Police Rai Singh Narwaria, Sub-Inspector Rakesh Mohan Shukl and Municipal Corporation employee Johra Bano were recorded before Chief Judicial Magistrate Ravindra Singh's court.

Monica Bedi was present in the court today.

Mr Shukl said he had confiscated Abdul Jalil alias Shiraj's passport. The next hearing will take place on April 12.

On November 28, 2001, a case was registered at the Koh-i-Fiza Police Station against Salem, Samira and Monica for having fake passports made at the regional passport office using the names Danish Baig, Rubina Baig and Fauzia Osman respectively.
