Metro train timings to be extended by about 1 hr from Apr 16
New Delhi, Apr 10 (UNI) In view of huge public demand, Delhi Metro will extend its train services by about an hour from April 16.
Train services, which started at 0600 hrs and continued till 2200 hrs at present, would now extend till 2300 hrs. The exact timings would, however, differ from one lone or sector to other, Delhi Metro Rail Corp statement said today.
The last train on Line 1 from Shahdara to Rithala and Rithala to Shahdara would be available at 2300 hrs. There would be three new train services available from Rithala to Kashmere Gate after 2300 hrs -- 2312 hrs, 2327 hrs and 2345 hrs.
There would be no change in timings status on Line 2, the last train from Vishwa Vidyalaya to Central Secretariat and Central Secretariat to Vishwa Vidyalaya would continue to run at 2250 hrs and 2300 hrs respectively.
On Line 3, the last train from Indraprastha to Dwarka Sector 9 would run at 2300 hrs while there would be no change in last train timing from Dwarka Sector 9 to Indraprastha and it would continue to be available at 2200 hrs. There would be three new train services available from Indraprastha to Dwarka at 2240 hrs, 2251 hrs and 2305 hrs.
Last trains from Kashmere Gate (interchange) station towards Shahdara and Rithala would be available at 2327 hrs and 2310 hrs respectively while there would be no change in timings of last trains towards Vishwa Vidyalaya and Central Secretariat and continue to be available at 2312 hrs and 2256 hrs respectively.
Last trains from Rajiv Chowk (interchange) Station towards Dwarka Sector 9 and Dwarka would be available at 2238 hrs and 2313 hrs respectively while there would be no change in timings of last trains towards Indraprastha, Central Secretariat and Vishwa Vidyalaya and they would continue to be available at 2249 hrs, 2305 hrs and 2304 hrs respectively.
This had been made possible by reducing empty running of trains and night trains going to the maintenance depots for checking at the end of the day would carry passengers as per the new schedule.
Extra metro staff would be deployed to cater to these additional timings.
Two additional train sets had arrived and were presently under commissioning and would be available to passengers this month itself.
