Legislative Council adjourned sine die

Hyderabad, Apr 10 (UNI) The newly re-constituted Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council was today adjourned sine die after five-days of sitting.

During the five-days, only motion of thanks for the Governor's address to both the Houses was discussed and the Chief Minister gave reply to the debate. About 33 amendments were proposed to the motion of thanks which were lost.

There was no question-hour or any other business during the session.

The Chairman announced that during the five-day session, the House sat for 15 hours and 30 minutes, 81 speeches were made and there was one statement by a minister.

On the first day of the session, members were sworn in while a Senior Congress Leader A Chakrapani and a member nominated by the Governor, was elected the Chairman next day.

Party Position : Congress 33, TDP 9, CPI(M) 1, CPI 2, AIMIM 1, Independents 13 and nominated members 12.
