Nurpur (UP), Apr 10 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi today asked people of Uttar Pradesh to support his party to liberate the state from the clutches of criminal elements and take the state to to its past glory in the coming assembly elections.

Making his appeal in this village off the NH 24 in Garh Mukteshwar assembly constitutency, Dr Joshi highlighted how the state was under the grip of criminals where a state minister and younger brother of Chief Minister Mulayam Singh was openly admitting that the infamous Nithari rapes and murders of innumerable children was a 'routine happening'.

The police and jailers are attacked by jailed criminals when they raid the jails to check illegal activities inside the jails. People of UP should answer is this is what they want? He asked.

He said people had seen the working of the regimes of Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and his predecessor and BSP Chief Mayawati and the regime headed by Kalyan Singh in the past.

The criminals had no place in the state administration were either to be behind the bars or leave the state but under the BSP and SP regimes they were back calling shots in the administration.

Both Mr Yadav and Mayawati were facing probes and cases facing the charges of disproportionate assets.

Touching the chord of people of the village of late Lok Dal leader and former Prime Minister Mr Chaudhary Charan Singh's birth place, Dr Joshi narrated how the farmers were getting into the debt trap and the inaction of the government in protecting their interests.

The police and third degree methods were employed to recover the dues when the farmer was unable to repay the loans. Does the same police go to the defaulting industrialists to recover the dues? he asked.

Chief Minister is in the company of rich industrialists be it Tatas, Ambanis, Godrejs and film star Amitabh Bacchan. Can they tell you if wheat is grown on plant or a tree? Dr Joshi asked.

Dr Joshi said if people of Uttar Pradesh vote for a BJP Government, the BJP will promise 'Karz mukt kisan and Bhook mukt Bharat' (loan free free kisan and hunger free India).

The Congress government at the Centre had not delivered justice to farmers after seeking support in the name of 'aam admi'. "You change this government we will change the government in Delhi", Dr Joshi assured the emotional voters.
