Jammu and Kashmir Congress leader dies

Srinagar, Apr 10: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Secretary Bashir Ahmed Shah died here following a massive heart attack, party sources said today.

He was 60 and is survived by his wife, one son and two daughters.

The sources said Shah died of a cardiac arrest.

Several senior Congress leaders, including party's state vice president Abdul Gani Vakil, mourned the demise of Shah.

In his condolence message, Mr Vakil described Shah as a high ranked social and political worker who rendered selfless services to the people.

Conveying sympathy to the bereaved family, he prayed for peace to the departed soul.
