Jalgaon, Apr 10 (UNI) The Collectorate here has become the first office in India to get the ISO certificate.

The certificate was issued by an Australia-based company.

Jalgaon District Collector Vijay Singhal told UNI on Saturday that ''His office has achieved its ISO certification. With this, it has become the first of its kind Collector's office in India.

The certification was issued by the International Standards Certification Company in Australia.'' A proposal had been sent for the ISO certification to International Standards Certification Company in Australia two years ago and the work on it had started from that day, he said.

Mr Singhal said he and his team had received 8 protocols regarding the implementation of the system such as renovation of the offices and departments, internal and external changes in departments, modernisation and advancement in the computerised working system, trendy and latest look to the office and disposal of the traditional system of filing. After their implementation, the procedure for ISO certification was easier, he added.

Last year, Mr Singhal's efforts and work regarding the River Connection Project was appraised not only at national level but also at the international one.
