Interest free loan to Haryana govt employees for wheat

Chandigarh, Apr 10 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to grant an interest free advance of Rs 6,000 to all class IV employees, who wish to buy wheat for consumption within their families.

While stating this today, Finance Minister Birender Singh said that the advance will be admissible to all permanent or temporary regular class-IV employees. However it would not be granted to those class-IV employees, who are on deputation to government corporations and local bodies and those who are workcharged, contractual and on daily wages.

Where both husband and wife are employed, the wheat advance would be allowed to only one of them.

He said that the advance will be recoverable in monthly installments to be fixed by the department concerned so as to effect its full recovery before the close of the financial year.

He said that a certificate may be obtained within one month of the advance to the effect that he or she has utilised the loan for the purchase of wheat.
