IB team reaches Birpur to probe Pranab's accident

Krishnagar, Apr 10 (UNI) An Intelligence Bureau team today reached Nakashipara at Birpur in Nadia district to inquire into the cause of the road accident in which External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee was injured.

DSP Bharati Ghosh and ADG (Border) Dilip Mitra were among others in the team.

The driver of the car, which was carrying Mr Mukherjee, Senior Congress leader Manas Bhunia and a security personnel, was taken to the accident site by the IB team.

The accident occurred on April 7 when a lorry collided head-on with Mr Mukherjee's car at Birhattala at Bethuadahari of Nadia district.
