Haryana villagers threaten agitation over alignment of canal
Ambala, Apr 10 (UNI) Farmers of about a half dozen villages im Haryana have threatened to launch an agitation if the state government did not review the digging of Nalvi distributory of the Dadupur-Nalvi canal which is currently under construction.
The residents of Pasiala, Nagla, Naraingarh Majra, Haldri, Langar Chhani and Chudialathese villages in the district have taken exception to the alignment of the canal.
The villagers complained that the alignment of the Nalvi distributory an offshoot of the Dadupur-Nalvi canal was wrong since the course of the canal was through the low lying areas in these villages. They said if the distributory was dug in the low lying areas, it would become a permanent danger for the villages and during the monsoon season these villages would be flooded causing losses to crops and houses.
