Handicraft set for major boost
Moradabad, Apr 10 (UNI) Encouraged by the interest shown by global retail giants in the Indian market, India Export Promotion Council (IEPC) has prepared a strategy for giving impetus to the handicraft trade in the country.
Addressing newspersons here today, IEPC Chairman Sudhir Tyagi said a Handicraft Fair would be organised at Greater Noida's India Expo Centre and Mart from April 15 to 18.
Handicraft items from different regions of the country would be showcased in the fair, which would provide a trade platform to the segregated sellers and buyers.
''MNCs such as Reliance, Tata, Wal-mart and Carrefour have already started their ground work for their retail presence in the country,'' he informed.
Besides handicraft, corporate gift, hardware, furniture, houseware and textile products would be displayed in the fair.
