Gopinath Munde to depose in court as witness tomorrow

Mumbai, Apr 10 (UNI) BJP general secretary Gopinath Munde, one of the key witnesses in the Pramod Mahajan murder case, is to depose in the Sessions Court here tomorrow.

Mr Munde is the brother-in-law of slain senior BJP leader and also accused Pravin. He had taken Pramod to P D Hinduja Hospital after his younger brother shot at him at 0745 hrs on April 22, 2006.

Mr Munde is believed to be one of the key witnesses in the case because while on way to the hospital, Pramod had spoken to him about the shooting incident.

Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam confirmed the development and said he (Mr Munde) will appear before Additional Sessions Court Judge S P Davare for recording his evidence in the case.

In the trial, a total 58 witnesses would be examined, he added.

Pravin Mahajan had fired three bullets at Pramod Mahajan on April 22, 2006.. The latter succumbed to his injuries on May 3, while undergoing treatment at the Hinduja Hospital here. Pravin then surrendered before the Worli police.

Deposition of Pramod Mahajan's widow Rekha concluded today.
