Factory workers pelt stone at police, Inspector injured

Surat, Apr 10 (UNI) A group of factory workers, who had a quarrel with a factory owner at S K Nagar in Dumbhal here, pelted stone at the police, injuring an Inspector.

Police said here today, Bhavesh Patel, a factory owner in Umiya Industrial Estate in Dumbahl area had a quarrel yesterday with a worker, Prakash Chauhan, over some theft issue.

The workers became angry over it an attacked the factory last night and tried to torch it, police said.

Around 500 workers entered the factory compound and started staying there throughout the night and when the police team used force to disperse them, they started pelting stones at the police, sources said.

''P I Brahamabhatt, an inspector with the Limbayat police suffered injuries in the incident,'' police added.

They have arrested nine persons in connection with the rioting and a case has been registered against them, police said.
