Sasni, Hathras, Apr 10 (UNI) Asserting that his commitment to the development of Uttar Pradesh would be long abiding, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi today said he accepted the challenge of dislodging parties which had mismanaged the state during their reigns and called on the youth to support him in his mission.

Addressing public meetings here and at Iglas in neighbouring Aligarh district during his ongoing roadshow in districts of the state, which go to the polls in the second phase on April 13, Rahul said that he was not raising the issue of development in view of the ongoing elections, but would be involved in this task even after. ''I will show the other parties how development takes place,'' he asserted.

Hitting out at the leaders of opposition parties who had alleged he would only be seen in the state during elections, he said he would show them that he intended to remain steadfast to his agenda of development even after the polls finish.

Without specifically naming either the ruling Samajwadi Party, the BJP or the BSP, Rahul deplored the fact that the governments in the last 18 years had brought the state to such a situation where the people were forced to move to Delhi, Mumbai and other parts of the country for their livelihood.
