CM's hometown registers 5 criminal cases in three years
Lucknow, Apr 10 (UNI) Saifai, the hometown of Uttar Pradesh Chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, has the distinction of not having a single criminal case of loot, dacoity, kidnapping or rape registered in the past three years.
Though crimes in other areas near Saifai have not declined, the hometown of the CM has recorded no crime except for murder.
In 2006 and 2005, the police station registered only one case of murder each, while in 2004 it filed three cases of murder.
However, not a single case of kidnapping, loot, dacoity and rape was recorded in three years.
Saifai tehsil has one of the biggest police station in the state with 40 constables and 7 Assistant Sub-Inspector rank officers and has a population of around 80,000 in over 60 small and big villages.
SHO of Saifai police station Kamal Singh Yadav claims that there is no crime in the area hence no report was filed.
'' There were reports of some petty crimes, but it was solved at the village level,'' he said.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party MP and nephew of the CM, Dharmendra Yadav claimed that the people of the were are so much engrossed in development that they did not think of crime.
''Saifai is a place with a difference,'' he added.
