CM lays foundation stone of management institute in Dwarka

New Delhi, Apr 10 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today laid foundation stone of Delhi Productivity Council Institute of Management in Dwarka subcity in the capital's SouthWest.

Ms Dikshit expressed confidence that the new campus would help the institute in getting recognition in the entire country including Delhi.

It would also provide better management personnel in the city resulting in skill development and enhanced productivity.

She gave an assurance that Delhi State Infrstructure and Industrial Development Corp and Industries Department would provide all possible help in making DPC Institute of Management more purposeful.

New 4,000-sq m campus coming up in Sector-9, Dwarka would be surrounded by greenery and ample parking space for faculty and students.

The site was within one km radius of a metro station ensuring high connectivity and ease of travel for students coming from various parts of Delhi.

New campus would have a spacious building with air conditioned lecture rooms, seminar/syndicate rooms, library, conference hall, auditorium, reading room and air conditioned computer center, fully equipped with the latest state-of ther-art technologies to carry out various tasks.

The DPCIM was the academic wing of Delhi Productivity Council which was affiliated to the National Productivity Council.

It was aimed at imparting professional education in management to graduates and equipping them with the skills and abilities required to take up successfully the responsibility of managerial positions.

The institute was established in 1984 and recognised by union HRD Ministry's All India Council for Technical Education in 1994.

Delhi Industry Minister Mangat Ram Singhal presided over the function.
