Central assistance under SGSY to N-E states

Shillong, Apr 10 (UNI) The Union Rural Development Ministry has released second instalment of the Central share towards Restortion of cut on account of late submission under the Swarnjayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana' (SGSY) during 2006-07 to District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Ri-Bhoi district (Rs.12.00 lakh), DRDA West Khasi Hills (Rs. 39.27 lakh) of Meghalaya and Rs.4.51 lakh to DRDA West Siang of Arunachal Pradesh, official sources here today said.

An amount of Rs. 16.91 lakh has been released towards restoration of cut on account of excess o.b. as on 1.4.2006 to DRDA South Tripura of Tripura and Rs. 5.97 to Gangtok DRDA of Sikkim under SGSY during 2006.07.

Additional instalment of central share for implementation of SGSY during 2006-07 has also been released to Dhalai DRDA(Rs. 51.91 lakh) of Tripura and DRDA Mamit-Aizwal (Rs.5.98 lakh) of Mizoram under the scheme.

Grant-in-aid as first instalment of central share amounting to Rs. 13.71 lakh to South Garo Hills DRDA of Meghalaya, Rs. 22.80 lakh to DRDA Mon of Nagaland, Rs. 26.42 lakh to DRDA Thoubal and Rs. 16.50 lakh to DRDA Ukhrul of Manipur have also been released under the scheme.

The Ministry has also released second instalment of funds under SGSY to DRDA East Khasi Hills (Rs.51.96 lakh) of Meghalaya and DRDA Kiphire(Rs.10.85 lakh) of Nagaland under the scheme.

The amount should be utilized on the programme as per approved guidelines of SGSY. The funding pattern will be 75:25 by the Centre and the state.
