Captain Shreyas Gandhi's family gets Rs 10 lakh 'Samman Nidhi'

Bhopal, Apr 10 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today presented Rs 10 lakh 'Samman Nidhi' to the family members of Captain Shreyas Gandhi, who was killed while defusing a bomb at border areas in Rajasthan's Bikaner in the western sector on January 7, 2003.

The 'Samman Nidhi' for Mr Gandhi's contribution was given after four years of procedure, as per official information.

The government will ensure that affected families get necessary assistance and honour in such cases within time.

Mr Gandhi's father V K Gandhi and mother Premlata Gandhi received the cheque.

The name of Bhopal's military station colony has been kept Gandhi Enclave in Mr Gandhi's name.
