Calsoft, Softex tie-up for 'TheftGuard'
Chennai, Apr 10 (UNI) California Software Company Limited (Calsoft) has entered into a strategic alliance with Texas based Softex Incorporated to offer 'TheftGuard ME' to the Indian mobile device market.
A company release here today said the application 'Theftguard ME' would enable mobile users to back up their personal information.
The application, which supports many mobile devices including smart phones, feature phones and PDAs, could completely disable the device when lost or stolen.
Calsoft and Softex plan to sell 'Theftguard' directly to the device manufacturers and service providers and would jointly manage the monthly service for the end consumer.
Calsoft's market reach coupled with its sound knowledge and experience in the hi-tech mobile space would complement the Softex expertise in data security market.
The release quoted Calsoft Managing Director and CEO S Sam Santosh as saying, "considering the soaring rate of mobile phone thefts worldwide resulting in complete loss of critical or confidential data, it is perfect time for us to enter India, a large market that is expanding at a phenomenal pace".
He said even if the SIM card was replaced or the phone was taken out of the country, the device can be disabled remotely and can later be enabled if retrieved.
