Boy dies of dog bite in Bangalore
Bangalore, Apr 10 (UNI) A Six-year-old boy died today after he was bitten by a street dog two weeks ago in Yalahanka, a suburb of the city taking the toll due to increasing dog menace in this metro to three since January.
Two children, in including a girl, had died when stray dogs had attacked them in different localities since the beginning of the year.
The problem of stray dog had become complex due to spurt in its population and one estimate had put it at 2.5 lakh. The Brahut Bangalore Metropolitan Corporation's efforts to catch stray dogs drew flack from animal lovers. The Corporation had also hired the services of expert dog catchers from Malabar in Kerala.
The boy identified as Hemanth Kumar of Agrahara Layout in Yalahanka was bitten by a stray dog on March 25 succumbed to injuries today. He was first admitted to a government hospital and later shifted to a private hospital, family sources said.
