Attack on SP candidate

Gonda, Apr 10 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate and sitting MLA Baijnath Dubey was attacked by some unidentified men last night, police said today.

According to official sources, Mr Dubey, the SP candidate from the Katra Bazaar Assembly constituency, was attacked by the men with 'lathis', when he was campaigning. He, however, escaped unhurt.

A case has been registered here against the two accussed. They are suspected to be supporters of BJP candidate Bavan Singh, the police said.
