Arrest warrant against Naval War Room accused Shankaran by UK court
New Delhi, Apr 10 (UNI) Decks have been cleared for the extradition of Naval War Room leak case accused Ravi Shankaran, believed to be hiding in London, following a United Kingdom district court issuing an arrest warrant for him.
The warrant follows a request by CBI to the Home Department of United Kingdom for 'provisional arrest' of Ravi Shankaran, believed to have fled there, said the CBI here adding the development was a positive step to arrest the fugitive.
However, a Red Corner notice against Shankaran by the Interpol was already in place since May 2006.
Ravi Shankaran, against whom a Proclamation Order was issued by the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in Delhi on June 17 last year and later his property attached on September 19, 2006, had left India prior to the registration of the case by CBI.
Due to non-compliance of court orders, Shankaran was declared a 'Proclaimed Offender' by the CMM, Delhi on November 15.
