ABG bags a major order from ESSAR SHIPPING

Mumbai, Apr 10, (UNI) ABG Shipyard Ltd, the country's largest private ship building company today announced that it has bagged a major order worth US dollar 139.0 Millon (Rs 618 Crore) from Essar Shipping&Logistics Ltd, Cyprus.

It is one of the largest single order ever received from this customer. Following this order, the order book of ABG Shipyard has swelled to approximately Rs 4,075.0 Crores (US dollar 915.0 Millon).

In a statement here, the company spokesperson stated,'' This order reinforces the superior design and capabilities of ABG 54,000 DWT Supramax Bulk Carriers. The order book for the Dahej facility is growing rapidly with continuous orders flowing in and the facility is raising towards completion.'' ABG Shipyard has secured the major order for construction of 4 No of 54,000 DWT Supramax Bulk Carriers, at a price of US dollar 139.0 Million (Rs 6,18.0 Crore) from Essar Shipping&Logistics Limited, Cyprus as a part of its fleet acquisition programme.

The value of all the 4 Vessels is US dollar 139.0 Millon (Rs 618 Crore) and the delivery period is by March, 2011. Following this order the order book position of the Company, as on date, stands at about Rs 4,075.0 Crore (USD 915.0 Million).
