5 Lankans with fake Italian passpost arrested
Chennai, Apr 10 (UNI) Five Sri Lankan Nationals, including two women, were arrested by the immigration authorities when they attempted to board an Air France flight to London with fake Italian passports, at the Anna International Airport early today.
Airport sources said that when they were going through the immigration clearance, officials found that the passports were fake and detained them.
On interrogation, the Lankans confessed that they had come from Colombo with a genuine passport on April 6 and then obtained a fake passport from an agent to fly to London.
They were arrested and handed over to the Airport Police, who in turn would hand them over to Central Crime Branch for further investigation.
