Woman killed

Mumbai, Apr 9 (UNI) A woman was killed on the spot and four others seriously injured, when a tractor crashed into a pendal, set up for religious discourses on Bhagwat Gita, at Lakhad village under Anjangaon Surji Tehsil, in Amravati district.

The deceased has been identified as Annapurna Devidas Chokhande.

'Bhagwat Saptah Dnyan Yaona' was organised in the village on April seven and during the load shedding period, the tractor was providing light in the area with its headlights on. Suddenly, the tractor started moving and as the driver was not nearby it went and hit the women, who were listening to the discourse, police said.

Offences under sections 304, 279 and 337 of ipc has been registered against the tractor owner, police added.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.
