Two minors killed, 2 seriously injured in cylinder explosion

Akola, Apr 9 (UNI) Two minors of a family have succumbed to their burn injuries and two others seriously injured in a cylinder explosion at Inamdar Pura village in Washim district.

The cylinder blast took place on the night of April 7, in which Latabai Atram (45) and her children -- Nilima (15), Vidya (10) and Rhutik (4) -- received severe burn injuries after their house was engulfed in the fire caused due to cylinder explosion, police and hospital sources said here today.

The injured were shifted earlier to a local hospital and then referred to general hospital here. However, Vidya and her brother Rhutik succumbed to their burn injuries last night.

Condition of Latabai and daughter Nilima is stated to be critical and are battling for life, the sources said.

A case of accidental death has been registered, police added.
