Thundershowers likely to hit city this evening
Kolkata, Apr 9 (UNI) The city, which experienced a pleasant breezy weather throughout the day today, braced up for a squally night with the Met office forecasting thundersqualls accompanied BY hail late in the evening.
''The thundersquall might strike the city with a speed of 60-72 km per hour,'' Met sources said. Rain and thunderstorms might occur at a few isolated places at Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Orissa in the next 48 hours, they added.
The Met sources have also forecast rain and thundershowers at a few places in Sub Himalayan Bengal, Tripura and Sikkim.
The mercury dropped slightly to 35.1 degrees Celsius. The sky remained mostly cloudy. Today's minimum temperature was 26.8 degrees Celsius. However, the maximum humidity stood at 80 per cent.
