Security beefed up at NER stations
Gorakhpur, Apr 9 (UNI) Security has been beefed up at all the railway stations falling under the jurisdiction of North-Eastern Railway (NER).
''Following the Naxalite attack in Bihar yesterday, NER has directed upgrading the security mechanism, especially at 10 railway stations under Varanasi and Lucknow divisions,'' official sources said here.
The step comes against a backdrop of yesterday's Maoist attack aboard Howrah-Mokama Passenger Train near Barganja railway station, in which two securitymen were killed and three others injured.
Maoists later took away their weapons.
