RJD pitches for ministerial berth in Ibobi government

Imphal, Apr 9 (UNI) The RJD, supporting the Okram Ibobi Singh government in Manipur, is lobbying for a ministerial berth.

The Rashtriya Janata Dal, with three MLAs, is supporting the Congress-led Secular Progressive Front government which came to power for the second time this March.

RJD sources said party chief and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad had met Congress President Sonia Gandhi and urged her to consider a ministerial berth for the party in the state.

Former Chief Minister and state party chief W Nipamacha was among those camping in New Delhi to lobby with central leaders.

The Ibobi government can still induct five more ministers.
