Rioting inmates hold staff captive in Chhattisgarh jail

Korba, Chhattisgarh, Apr 9 (UNI) Inmates at the Katghora sub-jail near here attacked jail officials this evening and snatched fire arms from them.

The Jail Superintendent and other staff were being held captive by the prisoners.

Police sources said, ''The reason for the rebellion in jail is not immediately known,'' adding that senior civil and police officials have reached Katghora. Additional police force have been deployed around the sub-jail to prevent jailbreak and efforts were being made to bring the situation under control, they added.
