Punjab tops in per capita average motor vechiles

Punjab
has
topped
in
ownership
of
motor
vehicles
while
Rajasthan
stands
at
the
ninth
position
on
the
per
capita
average
of
motor
vehicles.
Out
of
17
states
under
a
survey,
Bihar
comes
in
the
last
position
with
an
average
of
1,298
motor
vehicles
for
a
lakh
population.
According
to
offical
data
released
here,
Punjab
has
the
highest
average
of
13,218
motor
vehicles
for
one
lakh
population
followed
by
Tamilnadu
and
Gujarat
with
12,622
and
12,415
respectively.
Maharashtra
comes
at
the
fifth
postion
while
Kerala
is
at
the
sixth
position
followed
by
Karnataka
and
Andhra
Pradesh
taking
the
seventh
and
eigth
positions
respectively.
Rajasthan
with
the
largest
geographical
size
have
an
average
of
5,908
vechiles
per
lakh
population.
