Pune, Apr 9 (UNI) Pune Luxury Bus Owners Association and Maharashtra Rajya Truck, Tempo, Tanker, Bus Vahatuk Mahasangh, have threatened to go on an indefinite strike if the Transport Mobility Committee implements the decision to keep private buses out of the city limits to control pollution and decongest traffic in the city.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Prassana Patwardhan Vice-President of the Maharshtra Rajya Truck, Tempo, Tanker, Bus Vahatuk Mahasangh and Balasaheb Khedkar, President Pune Luxury Bus Owners Association, said that recently the traffic regulatory committee has given instructions to private bus owners that they will be allowed to operate their buses from only six entry points namely - Gunjan Theatre Yerawada, Jamanalal Bajaj Udyan Wakadeadi, Aundh Old Octroi Naka, Rajiv Gandhi Prani Sangrahlay Katraj, Vanaz Company and Bhairoba Nala.

''Private bus owners are also serving people by providing good public transport and they should be treated at par with MSRTC,'' Mr Patvardhan said.

He said ''Today only private bus owners are victimised and told to keep out of the city, but by pushing vehicles outside the city, issues of traffic and pollution will not be solved.'' UNI
